FINISH CARPENTRY FOR KELOWNA HOMES

Our Trim Services

The details are what define your room.

Finish carpentry is the visible woodwork that brings everything together after the bigger construction work is done. It frames doors and windows, finishes the transition between walls and floors, and adds architectural detail where a room would otherwise feel a little plain.

Whether you're replacing dated trim in one room, finishing a renovation, or working through an entire home, we can help choose profiles that suit the space and keep the details consistent from room to room.

What We Do

Crown Moulding

Single-piece and built-up crown profiles installed with careful joints and clean transitions at corners. Crown can be a subtle finishing detail or a much stronger architectural feature depending on the profile and ceiling height.

Baseboard Installation

New and replacement baseboards for renovations, flooring projects, and new homes. We work around real floors and walls, fitting and scribing where needed so the finished lines stay clean.

Door & Window Casing

Casing frames every door and window in the home, so small inconsistencies tend to stand out. We install new casing with consistent reveals, clean corners, and profiles that work with the rest of the trim package.

Wall Paneling & Feature Wall Trim

Trim & paneling on your walls adds visual interest and helps define the space in a clean, uncluttered way. Whether it's recessed panel mouldings, wainscotting on the ceiling or large full height shiplap wraps, we'd love to hear what you're thinking!

Real & Manufactured Wood Beams

Want to add a WOW feature to your space? Consider adding a false beam for a showstopping way to define & segment different areas in your home.

One Trim Language Throughout the Home

The best trim packages feel consistent from one room to the next. Crown, casing, baseboards, doors, and window details don't all have to be identical, but they should feel like they belong to the same house.

We install complete trim packages for renovations and new builds, as well as smaller upgrades when only one room or section of the home needs attention.

For builders and designers, we can also work from plans and finish schedules to keep profiles, reveals, and details consistent throughout the project.

The Difference Is In The Details

Why Good Finish Carpentry Matters

01

Tighter Joints

Good trim shouldn't rely on a thick bead of caulk to hide the cuts. We take the time to fit joints properly so corners and transitions stay cleaner and hold up better over time.

02

Consistent Reveals

Doors and windows look much better when the casing sits evenly around every opening. Consistent reveals and sight lines are small details that make a surprisingly big difference.

03

Built For Real Life

Floors aren't always level and walls aren't always straight. We scribe, fit, and adjust the trim where needed instead of assuming the room is perfectly square.

04

More Intentional

Baseboards, casing, crown, doors, and window details work together visually. When the profiles and proportions make sense together, the whole home feels more intentional.

Cost & Budget

How Much Does Finish Carpentry Cost in Kelowna?

Trim pricing depends on how much of the home is being done, the profiles you choose, ceiling height, material, and whether we're installing new trim or carefully removing and replacing what's already there.

The biggest things that affect finish carpentry pricing are:

• Scope — one room vs. several rooms vs. the entire home
• Footage — how much baseboard, casing, or crown is actually being installed
• Profiles — simple profiles are faster than larger or built-up moulding details
• Material — paint-grade MDF or poplar vs. stain-grade hardwood
• Ceiling height — tall walls and high ceilings require more setup and installation time
• Existing trim — careful removal, repairs, and matching existing details can add labour
• Existing conditions — uneven floors, walls, corners, and openings require more fitting and scribing

If you send us photos of the rooms and a rough list of what you'd like replaced or added, we'd be glad to get you a free estimate

Cost & Budget

How much do custom built-ins cost in Kelowna?

Every wall, room, and idea is different. A simple shelving project might be fairly straightforward, while a full fireplace wall with cabinetry, drawers, lighting, and custom finishes can become a much larger build.

If you send us a few photos of the space and a rough idea of what you’re hoping to build, we can usually help you get a much clearer sense of the scope before moving forward!

Single Room Trim Upgrade

$1,000-$2,000

e.g. A room or small area with new baseboards, casing, crown moulding, or a combination of trim details.

Multi-Room & Larger Trim Packages

$4,000-$8,000

e.g. Several rooms, more detailed profiles, taller baseboards, crown moulding, window liners, or a larger renovation area.

Whole-Home Trim Package

$10,000-$40,000

e.g. Baseboards, door and window casing, crown moulding, window liners, and other finish carpentry throughout a larger renovation or new home.

How It Works

From Existing Trim to Finished Room

01

Show Us Your Space

Send us photos of the rooms, the trim that's there now, and what you're hoping to change. If it's a larger project, a room list or set of plans is helpful too.

02

Choose The Details

We'll work through profiles, proportions, materials, and how the new crown, casing, baseboards, or window details should relate to the rest of the home.

03

Install

Existing trim is removed carefully where needed and the new material is measured, fitted, scribed, and installed around the actual walls, floors, doors, and windows.

04

Finishing Details

Joints, nail holes, and transitions are prepared for the final finish. We protect the surrounding space and clean up properly when the installation is complete.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does finish carpentry include?

Finish carpentry is the visible woodwork installed toward the end of a build or renovation. It includes things like baseboards, crown moulding, door and window casing, window liners, interior doors, wall details, and other trim work.

Can you match my existing trim?

Usually, yes. If you have an existing profile you'd like to keep, send us a clear photo or an offcut if you have one. We can often find a close match or work out the best way to blend the new work with what's already there.

Do you paint the trim?

Our focus is the carpentry and installation. Depending on the project, trim can be prepared for the final finish and we can coordinate timing with your painter.

Should I replace my trim during a renovation?

If you're already replacing floors, opening walls, changing doors, or renovating several rooms, it's often the best time to update the trim. The work overlaps and it's much easier to create a consistent look throughout the finished space.

What's the difference between MDF and wood trim?

MDF is stable, smooth, and cost-effective for painted trim. Solid wood or hardwood is generally the better choice for stain-grade applications or anywhere you want the natural wood to remain visible.

Can you do just one room?

Absolutely. Not every project needs to turn into a whole-house renovation. We can update a single room, although we'll usually look at the adjoining spaces too so the transition between old and new trim makes sense.

Do you work with builders and renovation contractors?

Yes. We work with homeowners, builders, designers, and renovation contractors on finish carpentry packages ranging from individual rooms to complete homes.

Can you replace trim without damaging the walls?

Usually, yes, although removing existing trim can occasionally expose old paint lines, drywall damage, adhesive, or other conditions hidden behind it. We remove trim carefully and will let you know if the walls need additional repair before the new trim is installed.
