Have a wall that feels blank no matter what you hang on it? Panelling fixes that. Whether it's classic wainscoting in a dining room, a modern slat wall behind the TV, or board and batten in an entryway, panelled walls add texture and architecture that paint alone can't. We design and install custom wall panelling for Kelowna homes — built for your walls, not pulled from a kit.

From subtle trim details to full statement walls, we install wall panelling that adds character without making the room feel overdone. Whether you’re after classic wainscoting, clean board and batten, modern slat walls, shiplap, or full-height panelled walls, we lay everything out around the actual proportions of the room so the finished result feels intentional and built-in — not like an afterthought.
Wainscoting
The classic lower-wall treatment — raised or recessed panels with a chair rail cap. Perfect for dining rooms, hallways, staircases, and powder rooms. We lay out the panels around your actual doors, windows, and outlets so the spacing looks intentional instead of chopped up.
Board & Batten
Vertical boards with battens over the seams — a clean, tailored look that works in entries, bedrooms, and mudrooms. More structured than shiplap, less formal than full wainscoting.
Slat Walls
Vertical wood slats with even spacing and shadow gaps — the modern feature-wall treatment you see behind TVs, in home offices, and on stairwell walls. We can run them full height, pair them with floating shelves or a media unit, and integrate lighting.
Shiplap & Tongue + Groove
Horizontal or vertical shiplap for accent walls, ceilings, and mudrooms. Done well it's crisp and coastal-modern; done poorly the gaps wander. We take the time to keep lines true.
Full Height Paneled Walls
Full-height panelled walls
Floor-to-ceiling panel moulding or flat panels for living rooms, primary bedrooms, and home offices — the kind of wall that makes the whole room feel designed.
01
Adds Character Without Clutter
You get more visual interest while still keeping the room clean and simple.
02
Makes A Plain Room Feel Finished
Panelling adds depth and architectural detail without needing to completely renovate the space.
03
Ties The Room Together
We can line it up with doors, windows, built-ins, fireplaces, and existing trim so everything feels like part of the same design.
04
Fix Awkward Proportions
Long blank walls, strange ceiling heights, or builder-basic rooms can feel much more intentional once the panelling is laid out properly.
Adding wall paneling to your home can be one of the best cost vs impact investments you can make to freshen up your space.
An accent wall in a bedroom is a modest project. Full wainscoting through a dining room, hallway, and staircase is a much bigger one.
The biggest things that affect price are:
Wall area — square footage and number of walls
Style complexity — simple board and batten vs. multi-piece wainscoting or full-height panel moulding
Material — paint-grade MDF/poplar vs. stain-grade hardwood or veneer
Obstacles — doors, windows, outlets, staircases, and uneven walls all add layout and fitting time
Finish — caulked and filled ready for paint vs. stain-grade work that needs exceptionally clean joints
Send us photos of the wall (with measurements if you have them) and tell us which style you're drawn to — we'll give you a realistic sense of scope.
Every wall, room, and idea is different. A simple shelving project might be fairly straightforward, while a full fireplace wall with cabinetry, drawers, lighting, and custom finishes can become a much larger build.
If you send us a few photos of the space and a rough idea of what you’re hoping to build, we can usually help you get a much clearer sense of the scope before moving forward!
Simple Accent Wall
$1500-$3,000
e.g. Board and batten, simple panel moulding, or shiplap on a straightforward single wall.
Detailed Feature Wall
$2,500-$5,000
e.g. Full-height panelling, more detailed moulding layouts, larger walls, or designs that need to work around windows, doors, outlets, or built-ins.
Larger Installations
$3,500-$8000+
e.g. Multiple walls, corners, doorways, chair rail, more detailed profiles, or wainscoting extending through dining rooms, hallways, or staircases.

Share Your Concept
Send us a few photos. Show us the wall. Photos and rough measurements. Inspiration images are genuinely helpful here — "like this, but in our living room."
02
Style & Layout
We talk through which treatment suits the room, then lay out the panel design around your actual doors, windows, and outlets before anything gets cut.
03
Panel Installation
Panels fitted to your walls, proper corner returns, everything level and plumb even when the wall isn't.
04
Finish Ready
Filled, sanded, caulked — ready for paint. We protect your floors and furniture and clean up the dust. After install your wall panels will be perfectly prepped for stain or paint.
We build wall panelling and provide slat wall installation throughout Kelowna — Upper Mission, Lower Mission, Glenmore, Wilden, Kettle Valley, Black Mountain, McKinley Landing, Dilworth — plus West Kelowna and Lake Country depending on scope.
Wainscoting traditionally means panelled lower walls with a chair rail — often with raised or recessed panel profiles. Board and batten is vertical boards with narrow battens covering the seams. Both add architecture; wainscoting reads more traditional, board and batten more tailored and transitional.
Not if it's designed well. Lower-wall wainscoting with light paint actually adds depth. Full-height dark panelling in a small, low-light room can feel heavy — we'll tell you honestly when a lighter approach suits the space better.
Absolutely — most of our panelling projects are single feature walls. Bedrooms, living rooms behind the sofa or TV, dining rooms, and entries are the most common.
We usually remove and replace baseboards as part of the panelled wall so everything ties together cleanly, rather than butting new panels into old trim.
We install both solid wood slat walls and slat-style acoustic panels (great for home theatres and offices where you want sound control plus the look). Tell us the room and we'll recommend the right approach.
Great question. We take on a limited number of projects, and depending on the size and scope of existing custom projects, lead times can vary depending on the season / holidays / current projects. Send us a message and we'll let you know our current lead times on creating a custom panel wall or feature wall for your space.
"We hired DiMarco Carpentry to do a built-in fireplace feature wall in our home and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! David worked with us to create exactly what we wanted, including recommending and installing a recessed TV and custom mantel. He was punctual, fair, and most importantly (to me) clean! He undoubtedly puts 150% effort into his work and the results speak for themselves. DiMarco Carpentry completely exceeded our already high expectations and we would highly recommend him and his business!"
