People forget to look up — until a ceiling gives them a reason to. We design and install coffered ceilings, decorative beams, vaulted ceiling details, and other custom ceiling treatments throughout Kelowna, built to add warmth, depth, and architecture without overwhelming the room.

A flat ceiling can make even a beautiful room feel unfinished. Adding beams, coffers, tongue-and-groove, or other architectural details gives the space more character and helps define the room from above.
Whether you want something subtle and clean or a more dramatic ceiling treatment, we design the layout around the actual room, ceiling height, lighting, and surrounding finishes so it feels intentional rather than added on.
What We Build
Coffered Ceilings
Square or rectangular recessed grids with simple or detailed trim profiles. Coffered ceilings work especially well in dining rooms, great rooms, offices, and spaces where you want a stronger architectural feature.
Decorative Ceiling Beams
Paint-grade or stain-grade box beams sized to suit the room. They add warmth, break up large ceiling planes, and work especially well in open-concept and vaulted spaces.
Vaulted Ceiling Details
Tongue-and-groove, panelled treatments, and beam layouts for vaulted and cathedral ceilings that help tall spaces feel more intentional and finished.
Tray & Lighting Detail Ceilings
Stepped tray ceilings, trim details, and subtle moulding treatments for bedrooms, dining rooms, and other spaces where you want a little more depth without a full coffered grid.
01
The Right Scale
Beam width, coffer depth, spacing, and profile size all need to suit the ceiling height and room dimensions. Proper proportions are what make the detail feel architectural instead of bulky or undersized.
02
Seamless Lighting
Pot lights, pendants, chandeliers, fans, speakers, and vents all affect the layout. We plan the ceiling detail around those elements instead of trying to work around them after the fact.
03
Custom Fit
Ceilings are rarely perfectly flat. Careful fitting, scribing, and alignment help the beams and coffers stay visually straight even when the structure behind them isn’t.
04
Built To Match
A simple modern box beam feels very different from a traditional coffer with detailed moulding. We help choose a style that fits the architecture of the home instead of just following a trend.
Pricing depends on the size of the room, ceiling height, number of beams or coffers, material, and how detailed the design is.
The biggest things that affect price are:
• Area — overall ceiling size
• Layout — number of beams or coffers
• Profile — simple or detailed
• Material — paint-grade or stain-grade
• Height — standard or vaulted ceilings
• Lighting — fixtures, fans, and pot lights
• Conditions — uneven ceilings and access
If you send us photos of the room and the ceiling height, we can usually give you a realistic sense of scope before moving forward.
Every wall, room, and idea is different. A simple shelving project might be fairly straightforward, while a full fireplace wall with cabinetry, drawers, lighting, and custom finishes can become a much larger build.
If you send us a few photos of the space and a rough idea of what you’re hoping to build, we can usually help you get a much clearer sense of the scope before moving forward!
Simple Beam or Ceiling Detail
$1,700-$3,000

Mid-Sized Beam or Coffered Ceiling Project

e.g. A larger dining room, living room, office, or main-floor space with multiple beams, coffers, or more detailed trim work.
Large Coffered or Vaulted Ceilings, Multiple Room Project
$10,000-$30,000+
e.g. Large great rooms, vaulted ceilings, stain-grade beams, full coffered grids, tongue-and-groove details, or complex layouts with integrated lighting.
01
Show Us Your Room
Send us photos, ceiling height, rough dimensions, and let us know what you want the room to feel like. Inspiration images are helpful too.
02
Plan The Layout
We work out the beam or coffer spacing, proportions, materials, lighting coordination, and how the ceiling detail should relate to the rest of the room.
03
Installation
Beams, coffers, and trim details are fitted carefully to the existing ceiling, with extra attention to alignment and scribing where the surface isn’t perfectly flat.
04
Finishing Details
Joints and transitions are prepared for the final finish. We protect the surrounding room and clean up properly when the installation is complete.
We build custom ceiling details throughout Kelowna, including Upper Mission, Lower Mission, Glenmore, Wilden, Kettle Valley, Black Mountain, McKinley Landing, and Dilworth.
We also take on coffered ceiling and beam projects in West Kelowna and Lake Country depending on the scope.
They can improve perceived value by making the home feel more custom and finished. We can’t promise a specific return, but ceiling details are the kind of feature buyers and guests tend to notice.
Not necessarily. Properly scaled beams can actually help organize the ceiling visually and make the room feel more intentional. In lower rooms we keep the profiles slimmer, while taller or vaulted spaces can carry larger beams.
Yes. Most decorative beam projects can be added to existing ceilings as a retrofit, although the exact approach depends on the ceiling, lighting, and surrounding finishes.
Both work well. Painted beams tend to feel cleaner and more transitional, while stained wood beams add warmth and natural texture.
Yes. Box beams are a common option because they give the look and scale of a large timber without the weight and cost of a solid beam.
Yes. Tongue-and-groove, shiplap, or other panelled ceiling details can be combined with beams to create a more finished and architectural look.
Yes. Those elements should be planned into the layout from the beginning so the beam or coffer pattern feels balanced around them.
Absolutely. Beam colour, profiles, crown moulding, panelling, and fireplace details can all be coordinated so the room feels cohesive.
"We hired DiMarco Carpentry to do a built-in fireplace feature wall in our home and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! David worked with us to create exactly what we wanted, including recommending and installing a recessed TV and custom mantel. He was punctual, fair, and most importantly (to me) clean! He undoubtedly puts 150% effort into his work and the results speak for themselves. DiMarco Carpentry completely exceeded our already high expectations and we would highly recommend him and his business!"
